Organizations Courtside

Youth basketball · stat-taking & live feed

Keep the book courtside. No signal required.

Statra records every make, miss, rebound and substitution on the phone in your hand — in a gym with one bar or none. When signal comes back it syncs, and the parents following your team see the game fill in live.

What it does

Everything a team keeps, in one place.

No modules to turn on and no setup wizard: a team, a roster, a game. Everything below is built or in build.

Live stat-taking

Makes and misses, so percentages are real. Rebounds, assists, steals, fouls, minutes.

Core

Works with no signal

Every tap is written to the phone first. The game is never waiting on the network.

Core

Live feed for the people who can't be there

Score, play-by-play and box score update on their phone seconds after the tap.

Core

Box scores and season averages

Per game and per player, computed from the log — never typed in twice.

Core

Schedule, games and repeating practices

Tuesdays and Thursdays until March. Move or cancel one date without touching the rest.

Core

Roster, roles and invites

Coaches, parents and a five-character invite code. Scorekeeping is a permission you grant.

Core

Leagues, tournaments and brackets

Standings, pools and knockout rounds for clubs running their own events.

In build

Courtside

One screen, designed for a folding chair on the baseline.

The stat screen is dark, thumb-sized and never scrolls the thing you're about to tap off the edge. It was rebuilt around what actually goes wrong in a gym.

  • The pad never moves. The roster scrolls in a fixed window; the stat keys and the confirmation stay put.
  • Who you're logging for is pinned. Filter by name or number, and the selected player stays visible while you tap.
  • Wrong tap, one tap back. Void the last event; expand for the full play-by-play when a parent disputes the score.
  • Quarters, halves, and overtime that keeps going. Period length is one setting; the next period pre-fills its start time.
  • Track as much as you want. Score only, score plus stats, or full per-player — switchable mid-game.
Bruins 12U Q3 · 4:12
48 — 41 Hawks

Tap either key. A score never changes silently — it pops and flashes green up, red down, so the scorekeeper sees the change without looking away from the floor.

How a game flows

Log it. Sync it. They see it.

A real sequence, in this order, whether the gym has signal or not.

01

The tap lands on the phone

Every event is written to local storage before anything else happens. No spinner, no retry, no dropped bucket because the connection blinked.

Airplane mode is a supported state

02

Signal returns, the queue drains

Events are append-only, so replaying the queue can't double-count or reorder the game. Reconnecting mid-quarter is uneventful on purpose.

The count that arrives is the count you tapped

03

Followers get the game live

Score, play-by-play and box score stream to invited parents. Nobody refreshes anything, and nothing is public.

Invite-only, per game

The stats it keeps

A box score you didn't have to build.

Because misses are captured, percentages are honest. Team totals are authoritative; anything unassigned is shown, never quietly absorbed.

Team totals
Every number here is folded from the play-by-play. Void an event and the box score, the percentages and the season averages all move with it.

The details that matter at 6:40 on a Tuesday

Small things, decided already.

One active scorekeeper
Per game, so two phones never fight. Handing off is a request the current keeper approves; a coach can appoint instead.
Jersey-only players
No name yet? "#23" is a player. Fill it in later.
Substitutions, optionally timed
Enter the game time and you get minutes. Skip it and you still get the sub.
Opponents without accounts
Type the other team's name. They never have to sign up.
Dark, light, or whatever the phone is doing
The whole app follows the system. Stat-taking stays dark either way.
The keyboard never covers the field
Every form scrolls to keep the input and its button in view.
Children's data stays closed
No public team pages, no searchable rosters. Rosters and photos are visible to invited members only, and deletion means deletion.
Nothing to export to a spreadsheet
Season averages, minutes and shooting splits are already there when the game ends.

Questions coaches actually ask

Before you take it into a gym.

Does it really work with no signal?

Yes — that's the design, not a fallback. Events are written to the phone as you tap and queue there for as long as they need to. A full game recorded in airplane mode syncs with nothing lost when you're back on a network.

Who can see my team's games?

Only people you invite. Sharing a game is an invitation, never a public link — there are no searchable rosters and no team pages on the open web.

Can two people keep stats at the same time?

One person holds the book at a time. Another scorekeeper can request it and the current holder approves the handoff; a coach or owner can appoint someone directly. Everyone else watching sees the game read-only.

Do I have to track every stat?

No. Pick score only, score plus stats, or full per-player — per game, and switchable mid-game when your helper leaves at halftime. In the middle mode you can credit the team instead of a player, and unassigned points are shown rather than hidden.

Quarters or halves? What about overtime?

Both, plus as many overtimes as the game needs. You set the period length once; each new period pre-fills its start time, so it's usually one tap.

I already have three seasons in a spreadsheet.

Start with the current season — a team, a roster and your next game take about five minutes. Importing history isn't in the app yet; send us the file and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth waiting for.

Next season

Being built for next season.
